ARX2 Mentorship Program Provides a Pathway for Future Stars
NEW YORK, N.Y. (March 7, 2019) – Ahead of the 2019 Americas Rallycross (ARX) season, the North American championship announced today a new mentorship program for ARX2 drivers and teams. The ARX2 Mentorship Program will create a transparent and direct path to the Supercar category.
For the 2020 season, the ARX2 Champion will have their entry fees waived and be provided with complementary Cooper Tires for their entire 2020 ARX or ARX2 program. In addition, the champion will receive four free one-day DirtFish Rally School courses in one of their four-wheel drive prepared Subaru vehicles, along with a Supercar test following the Cooper Tires ARX of Mid-Ohio Championship event in October, courtesy of Loenbro Motorsports with support from cbdMD.
“The ARX2 class is the foundation of the Americas Rallycross Championship. The drivers competing here are the future of the sport and it is important that we support them as they look to make a career in Rallycross,” said Jordan Martindale, Series Director, Americas Rallycross. “We are delighted to have our founding partner, Cooper Tires, work together with us on developing the ARX2 Mentorship Program and we all believe that the skills passed on from drivers, teams and industry experts will play a big part in furthering the on and off-track racing education of those entering the series.”
Alongside the championship winner’s awards, all ARX2 drivers and teams will participate in networking events, driver and team programming with motorsports and media influencers and access to the IMG partnership network.

Loenbro Motorsports will supply a Ford Fiesta ARX Supercar for the ARX2 Champion along with coaching from former NASCAR driver and rallycross veteran, Steve Arpin.
“I was fortunate to have many forms of support when I started down this path. From drivers like Carl Edwards and Kenny Wallace, to people that believed in me, like my family, Paul and Jon Leach, the Nelson family, and many more,” said Arpin. “For young drivers nowadays, it’s tough. There’s a ton of competition, the social media world has added an entirely new element to it and kids are starting younger and younger these days. To be able to help influence and help develop some young drivers through the ARX2 Mentorship Program – especially eager ones that are wanting to work hard and learn – it’s going to be awesome to be able to help the next generation in some of the ways that people supported me along the way!”
The 2019 ARX season begins in June and concludes in October, featuring new events at the historic Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course and Gateway Motorsports Park. Tickets for the June and October Cooper Tires ARX of Mid-Ohio events and ARX of Canada are on sale now, while tickets to the ARX of Gateway and ARX of COTA will be on sale soon. Television and digital media viewership details for the 2019 season will be announced in the near future.
