World Rallycross USA is excited to announce that Grammy Award-winner and American Music Award-winner DJ Jazzy Jeff will open for international superstar headliner and multi-Grammy-winning rapper Ludacris on Saturday, September 29, 2018, at the FIA World Rallycross Championship presented by Monster Energy held at Circuit of The Americas (COTA) in Austin, Texas.

Grammy Award-winning record producer, DJ, actor, and comedian DJ Jazzy Jeff began spinning records at the age of ten. DJ Jazzy Jeff acted on the 90’s hit show The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air with longtime friend Will Smith. The two started their music careers as duo DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince and created the theme song for the show. The duo produced many other successful albums, including He’s the DJ, I’m the Rapper. Since 1985, DJ Jazzy Jeff has been working on solo projects, collaborations with other artists, touring, and giving backstage insights on his web series, Vinyl Destination. Most recently, DJ Jazzy Jeff released his album M3. DJ Jazzy Jeff is a Disco Mix Club Championships winner, he’s been nominated for several Grammy Awards and American Music Awards, and he has received two Grammy Awards: “Best Rap Performance” in 1988 and “Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group” in 1992, alongside his pal, Will Smith.

“It’s fantastic to be able to confirm another global music icon for the inaugural World RX of USA later this month,” said World RX Managing Director for IMG Paul Bellamy. “DJ Jazzy Jeff’s famously spectacular and crowd-pleasing live performances need no introduction, and his addition to what is already a superb bill of on and off-track entertainment is a further endorsement of the anticipation surrounding this eagerly-awaited festival of motorsport.”

The much-anticipated World RX of USA speeds into COTA from September 29-30 for what will be the spectacular World Rallycross Championship’s first-ever visit to the United States. Signaling the tenth round of the 12-event season, the immensely popular series pits some of motor sport’s most accomplished racers against one another in a series of fast-paced, high-octane, mixed-surface races.
