Cabot Bigham Signs up for ARX2 Challenge

(July 30, 2018) – Rallycross championship winner Cabot Bigham will join the ARX2 line-up for the second and third rounds of the inaugural Americas Rallycross (ARX) season at Trois-Rivieres in Canada next week, August 4-5.

Bigham has signed for the Dreyer & Reinbold Racing (DRR) team to race in ARX2. The Mill Valley, California driver has had successful previous experience with the team racing the single-make Supercar Lites rallycross cars. On top of his rallycrossexperience, Bigham also made his rallycross Supercar debut in America last year, driving a Ford Fiesta.

“I contacted DRR after round one of ARX2 in COTA. The pace of their cars combined with their team appearance confirmed that they were the most competitive team. I recall my 2016 rallycross season with DRR being one of my favorite years in motorsports. I am ecstatic to continue my relationship with them in the coming years of rallycross,” said Bigham. “I was interested in ARX when it was just a rumor. When Volkswagen and Subaru locked in as registered teams, it showed me I could trust the new series and try for a few more Championships.”

The first round of ARX2 took place at the DirtFish ARX of COTA earlier this month. Bigham is targeting a podium finish in his first weekend of rallycross action this year in Canada. “My personal expectations for Trois-Rivieres are to finish in the top three. This won’t be an easy task as I have seen my peers develop their driving skills over the past few years. That being said, it is a goal I am adamant on achieving. For the rest of the season, I hope to stay clear of menacing crash damages, nail my starts, and put on a clean racing show for my sponsors, friends and family.”

The driver of the No. 2 Oink Clothing, Monster Transmission ARX2 car is hoping his skill set will aid him in his challenge to fight for the first ever ARX2 title. “My ability to visualize situations, corners and starts has always been my confidence inspiring skill. I am also proud of my ability to rise above negativity. I won’t let a hard weekend keep me down,” he said. “My previous experience will also be of benefit. Hopefully I will be able to recall on similar situations for guidance.”

Bigham will take on round one winner, Conner Martell and the rest of the ARX2 field beginning on Saturday, August 4 for the second event of the season before Sunday’s third round of the championship.
