Cooper Tires Introduces Rallycross to The Midwest

(December 14) – Americas Rallycross (ARX) will be supported by the biggest rallycross tire supplier in the world as ARX and ARX2 makes its first visits to the Midwest in 2019.

The Cooper Tires ARX of Mid-Ohio will be held twice in 2019, on June 8-9 and October 5-6, at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, where Cooper Tires has been the official tire since 2016.

“The Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course is one of America’s iconic road courses, and it is located less than 75 miles from Cooper Tire’s corporate headquarters in Findlay, Ohio. Cooper Tires is also the presenting sponsor of the Road to Indy open wheel development race series that races at Mid-Ohio on IndyCar weekends. This combination of factors led Cooper to form a relationship with Green-Savoree for the sponsorship rights to Mid-Ohio,” said Christopher Pantani, Director of UHP Marketing, Business Development and Motorsports of Cooper Tires.

Cooper Tires is also a founding partner of ARX. In the inaugural season in 2018, Scott Speed won the Supercar championship driving a 600 horsepower Volkswagen Beetle and the ARX2 Championship was dominated by DirtFish Motorsports’ Conner Martell on the dirt and asphalt circuits in North America. “Rallycross has such a global appeal and fan following that being able to have not only one – but two – events at Mid-Ohio is fantastic. Mid-Ohio will anchor both the start and finish of the 2019 ARX schedule with the US’s only semi-permanent rallycross race track,” said Pantani.

The new temporary 0.7-mile, 10-turn asphalt and dirt configuration with a jump will be constructed near the “Keyhole” section of Mid-Ohio and Cooper Tires is planning to be a key part of growing the sport in the Midwest. The brand will host a number of brand activations at its home ARX rounds in 2019. “Cooper Tire is an official track sponsor of the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, so we have signage at the track throughout the year. Rallycross fans will also see additional signage utilized specifically for ARX events, and Cooper will host brand activations at the events to encourage fans to interact with Cooper and take-home Cooper-branded giveaways.”

Fans can purchase season passes to Mid-Ohio’s eight championship events, including both rounds of the ARX Championship in June and October, by going to to purchase. Fans can also learn more about Cooper Tires by visting and by following @TeamCooperTire on Instagram and Twitter.
